Love them or hate them, cellphones occupy a huge space in our lives, there’s no denying that. And it’s worth taking a look at how they are affecting our mental health. This presentation will look at the ways in which our phones are impacting our mental health at scale, and the ways we can try to combat these effects and have a healthier relationship with our cellphones.
Owen Hill, LCPC-c, is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor practicing at University of Southern Maine’s Counseling Center. His therapeutic orientation is eclectic, mixing together approaches from cognitive-behavioral, emotionally-focused and psychodynamic schools of thought. His research interests include digital addiction and online use disorders, stress optimization and stress recovery.
